This line of research was created in 2019 as part of a series of changes introduced during this four-year period. It addresses relations between land, territory, culture, and power, considered key dimensions of global geopolitics and local sociopolitical dynamics in the twenty-first century. This line includes themes such as: the inter-state system, agrarian issue, and colonialism; insurgences, autonomy, and territorial dynamics; economic systems and non-mercantile economic spheres; local legal systems and common law; policies for remaining quilombo, indigenous, and traditional communities; transnational political processes and territory; multinationals, natural resources, and territory; foreignization, land appropriation and financialization processes, etc.
