Professor Rosa holds a degree in social sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, a master’s degree from CPDA/UFRRJ, and a PhD in sociology from IUPERJ.

He is Associate Professor in CPDA/UFRRJ and in the Graduate Program in Sociology at the University of Brasília (UnB). CNPq Research Productivity Scholar and CAPES Sociology Area Coordinator (2018–2022).

He researches, teaches, and advises on contemporary sociological theory, social movements, and the sociology of land.

His teaching and research activities address a sociology of the non-exemplary forms that actants, collective actions, and the State assume in the countries of the Global South.

He is coordinator of the Non-Exemplary Sociology Lab/CNPq (www.naoexemplar.com).
