This line of research addresses the role of the state and social actors in development processes, in political/institutional dynamics, and in formulating and implementing public policies at the national and international levels. Topics include: policies, actors, arenas, and governance structures at local, regional, national and international levels; transnational actors, multilateral agencies and national public policies; economic, political and social effects of public policies in rural areas and in the agri-food system; forms of social organization, representation of public policy interests and networks; territorialization of public action; food and nutrition sovereignty and security; support programs for family agriculture; land ownership and settlement policies; sectoral and social policies for the rural environment, etc.
