Professor Lima holds a PhD (2002) and master’s degree (1987) in social sciences in development, agriculture, and society from CPDA/UFRRJ, as well as a bachelor’s degree with teaching certification in history from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1978).
She is on the editorial board of the journal Estudos Sociedade e Agricultura.
Her research focuses on interpretations of how agrarian roots shaped Brazilian society, the rural world and nation in literary representations, new rurality/new identities, regional issues, and the Amazon region.
She leads the Literature, Social Sciences, and Rural World Research Group.
