It also includes studies on the social dynamics that construct social and political identities. Topics of interest include: processes and forms of organizing and activity for different segments (field workers, rural entrepreneurs and agribusiness, women, young people, the elderly, consumers, and ethnic groups); trade unionism and informal forms of worker organization; rebellions, revolutions, and insurgencies; constructing political identities; local, national, and transnational connections and networks; mediation activities in various forms (institutional, discursive, and political culture); the significant dimension of social movements; legal dimensions of social struggles and uses of the law; relationships between organizational processes and constructing new rights; violence in its different forms. This line is linked to the Center for Research, Documentation, and Reference on Rural Social Movements and Public Policies (www.ufrrj.br/cpda/nms/) and the Ruralism, Agribusiness, and Power Relations Study Center (NARUP).
